Biography: The striking talents of Kendall Lujan will be impossible to miss in the coming year. Her indie-operatic voice stratifies songs through octave runs, making moody, melodic folk rock. Early 2024 we’ll have her first full length album. With her debut EP out earlier this year. With songs featured on official playlist for Spotify and Apple Music. As well as Lujan’s Debut single ‘Forget me Knots’ music video featured on MTV.
Lujan has been making herself heard by singing harmonies in AC Sapphire’s backing band The Shoulderpads and now with a new duo with AC called “Caliko”. The two have gone on to win the New Song, Songwriting contest as well as the John Lennon, Songwriting Contest. As well as recently opening for Amos Lee on his recent tour date in Portland. The two have been featured in the opening sequence on NPR’s Meet the 2023 Tiny Desk Community” video.
Kendall Lujan is embarking on her first solo month long European tour September 2023, and a week long tour in November 2023 to play a run of shows with opening slots for Bobby Alu and Early James as well as Bluebird Festival in Vienna in November. She has also shared the stage with Frazey Ford on recent tour dates in the PNW. In her latest project Lujan steps out with songs off the album covering many genres. Including Jazz, Folk, Bosa Nova and Indie-Rock. The natural singer and songwriter put together a studio band with Micah Hummel (drums), Colin Schmidt (bass) and Alex Milsted (piano) and recorded at the Map Room Studio in Portland, Oregon with Dominik Schmidt producing. This project is set to have the first single out in September, and final Album released April 2024.
